Bicyclist Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center In Critical Condition After Route 9 Collision With Pickup
The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation, according to the Putnam County Sheriff.
PHILIPSTOWN, NY — A cyclist is fighting for his life after a crash on Route 9 in Putnam County.
On Friday, around 10:29 a.m., the Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to Route 9 and Horton Road, in the Town of Philipstown, for a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist and a pickup truck.
The cyclist, identified as Nelson Guerrero, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the North Highlands Fire Department, where he was then airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. He remains in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Richard Nairn, remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision with assistance from the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
