LoHud.com reported that the first day of the Section 1 state qualifier was held on Thursday at Arlington High School, with Brewster's Ariana Bottalico placing third in the 3,000.

No. 7 Brewster (16-6) fell to No. 8 Beacon 8-3 in the Section 1 Class A final at Heroes Field in Nanuet on Saturday, according to Debbie Schechter's story on LoHud.com.
Despite the loss, it was a great postseason run to make it to the championship game for the Bears so congratulations to the team on its outstanding play in the sectional tournament.
