Brewster Area Girl Scouts Sing & Dance at Performance Workshop
The workshop took place at Seven Star School of Performing Arts.

On October 26th, Seven Star School of Performing Arts hosted a Musical Theater Workshop for Girl Scouts in Brewster and the surrounding area.
More than 50 girls rotated through sessions in dancing, singing and acting—and in less than two hours they were able to perform an entertaining routine.
Fresh off Broadway’s Rocky, Michelle Aravena, taught the lyrics to the song “Dancing Queen” from the Broadway Musical Mamma Mia! No stranger to the musical, Aravena played the role of Sophie, the young bride-to-be in the first national tour. Performer turned choreographer Abbey O’Brien choreographed a creative dance routine for the girls ranging from ages 5 to 16.

“What an amazing opportunity for these young ladies,” said Girl Scout leader & acting teacher Margaret Carey, “to learn from these two talented women with impressive experience on stage and screen.”
Their example of successful careers in a tough but rewarding field inspires girls to work hard towards achieving their dreams.

The five high school Juniors of Troop 1074 along with their leaders arranged and coordinated the workshop.
Leader Jacqueline Frisch said, “Owners Nicole Aravena-Coates & Donna Aravena donated the use of their brand new state-of-the-art facility, their staff and their time to help us provide a fun-filled and educational event to support our girls.”
These girls remind us that Girl Scouts don’t just sell cookies. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
