Brewster (5-15) played well in its regular-season finale on Thursday night at Lakeland.
Unfortunately for the Bears they ran into a great pitching performance by Hornet hurler Mike Nash, who threw a complete game two-hitter in Lakeland's 4-1 victory.

Brewster took the lead when Matt Ghelarducci scored on James Cundari's fielder's choice in the second inning before Lakeland scored four runs in the fourth.
“I thought we played great," Brewster coach Ed Mulvihill said. "We had one bad inning. Other than that I thought we hung in there, we played well. I was very happy with the way we competed."
The Bears will now wait for the seedings to come out for the upcoming Section 1 Tournament to be announced on Monday. The out-bracket games start on Tuesday.
“We are going to have three solid days of practice," Mulvihill said. "I like our chances. Anything can happen in the sectionals. Baseball is a great game. We are going to work hard. We are going to try and correct a couple of little things. I am looking forward to it.”
Sean Florenz and Cundari both recorded singles for the Bears in the third and seventh innings respectively.
Softball
Brewster also played a great game in softball, losing at Carmel in 10 innings 3-2 on Wednesday according to Rob Cristino's post on the LoHud Softball Blog.
Shannon Sommer drove in the go-ahead run for the Bears in the top of the 10th inning.
