UPDATE: Brewster Cancels Tuesday's Urban Renewal Plan Meeting

Here is the agenda for the Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday night.

Brewster officials have canceled the work session scheduled for Tuesday evening to discuss the proposed Urban Renewal Plan and revitalization of the village.

There will be a regular Board of Trustees meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Hall on Main Street.

At a January meeting about the plan, village Planning Board members heard a lot from residents and property owners who disliked the idea, according to The Examiner.

The land use strategy consists of creating a mix of residential, neighborhood retail, parking, community facilities, and open space uses at targeted locations. To achieve the redevelopment envisioned, acquisition of properties, relocation of tenants and demolition of buildings and improvements will be required.

Opponents complained that the plan was vague, The Examiner reported.
