Brewster Cares To Hold Spring 5K And Family Fun Run

BREWSTER, NY — Brewster Cares, a non-profit dedicated to the care of those in need in Brewster and the immediate surrounding communities, is sponsoring a 5K and Family Fun Run around the Village this spring to raise money and awareness.

"Our mission is to unite people to build trust, give hope and serve those in need. Together, we all make Brewster stronger," said organization officials.

The hope is that it can become an annual event bringing the community together every spring.

Brewster Cares programs include the homeless shelter that helps the most vulnerable during the winter months; Supper Hugs providing meals for families living in local motels who cannot cook for themselves; tutoring for needy kids: ESL classes for adults; and a summer day camp for inner-city kids so they can spend time enjoying and learning about the outdoors in Putnam County.
