Brewster Graduate Dies at 49

Service is slated for Wednesday.

Daniel P. Dolan (“Danny”) of Dover Plains died Saturday after a brief illness. He was 49.

Born Jan. 15, 1963 in Mount Kisco, son of the late Joseph and Anne (McGrath) Dolan, Danny grew up in Brewster. He graduated from in 1981 and served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1983 to 1987.

Danny moved to Dover Plains in 1992 and in 2000 he became a Putnam County Park Ranger, where he worked until recently. He was a member of American Legion Post #1949 in Wingdale.

Danny is survived by his brothers: Matthew Dolan and his wife Karen of Suwanee, GA; Edward Dolan and his wife Kandee of Hyde Park; his sister: Catherine Kohler and her husband William of Syracuse; his nieces and nephews: Brandon and Brandi Dolan; Casey, Liam and Emma Kohler; Kirsten, Anne and Patrick Dolan; and many beloved cousins. He was also predeceased by his stepmother, Jane (Davis) Dolan.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Avenue in Brewster). Internment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Danny’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Westchester Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit for the fabulous care given to their brother during his stay at the hospital.
