Brewster Man Surrenders to Cops over Bank Robbery

Danbury police had asked for the public's help — they got the guy, in person, instead.

BREWSTER, NY — Danbury police have stopped searching for the man who robbed the Union Savings Bank on North Street Wednesday — because he turned himself in.

Police had asked for the public's help IDing the suspect.

Now Michael Zemsky of Brewster, NY faces charges in connection with the bank heist. Police said the suspect, who was wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants, gave a teller a note at around 3 p.m. saying he had a gun. An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the robber fled.
