Brewster Middle Schoolers Treat Local Heroes

Students sent a care package including Brewster Pastry baked goods to Putnam Hospital

Members of Henry H. Wells Middle School's Student Government and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recently donated a delicious care package to Putnam Hospital.

After raising money with candygrams for Valentine's Day (a fundraiser that usually goes solely to the American Heart Association), student government decided to split the proceeds this year and offer a special treat to local heroes. Supporting a small local business at the same time, the group purchased a package from Brewster Pastry that included 20 French brioche, 20 apple turnovers, 100 apple cider donuts and 30 loaves of Italian bread.

A small group of students from Student Government and NJHS delivered the baked goods as well as handmade cards and signs to the hospital last week.

“We are very proud of this remarkable group of student leaders that we have been fortunate enough to work with this year,” said Tina Aulabaugh, a Student Government advisor along with Alisa Ferrara.
