BREWSTER, NY — Brewster school district residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.
The $101 million proposed budget is a 3.04% spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 4.06% hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

Voters also approved the purchase of buses through issuance of a Bond Anticipation Note of $753,000.

They agreed to moving $2,000,000 out of the district's Fund Balance (accumulated savings) to its Capital Fund for HVAC Installation at JFK Elementary School.
