Bronx Man Accused of Cashing Forged Checks in Southeast and Carmel
Police allege he stole $3,570.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation announce the arrest Byron P. Kempson, 29, of the Bronx on charges of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree, both felonies.
Police alleged that Kempson cashed several counterfeit checks at Tompkins Mahopac Bank branches located on Route 22 in Southeast and on Route 6N in Carmel. In all, they say, he stole $3,570.
Kempson was arraigned March 17 at the Town of Southeast Court, where Judge Richard Vercollone remanded him to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
His next appearance is scheduled for March 24 in Carmel town court.
