Business Spotlight: Las Mañanitas [VIDEO]

The new restaurant seats about 120 people.

After a bit of a rough start, staff members say business is running smoothly at the newly-opened .

The Route 22 restaurant, which specializes in Mexican food, is owned by Luis Sanchez, a Patterson resident who opened about eight years ago.

"This is a little more upscale, the menu is different, almost everything is different," he told Patch, adding that Las Mañanitas serves everything from kids items to his famous guacamole to ossobuco.

Sanchez is planning a grand opening for sometime in the near future. A few aspects of the business, such as exterior renovations to the building, are still in the works. But for the most part, things have only been improving.

"We had a few issues in the beginning, with the service, we had a few problems, but we've been working on them and everything is great now," he said. "...People made some reviews and they were not nice and I say they were right, I admit it."

"But now it's different. ... we're doing 100 percent better from a month ago to now," Sanchez said with a smile. "I never said we're the best, but we're really good."
