Kick off summer with a kid‑friendly pollinator‑garden workshop!
Celebrate summer by creating your own pollinator garden. This hands‑on workshop is designed with kids in mind and explores why bees, butterflies and other pollinators are essential to a healthy environment. Families will learn simple ways to support local pollinators while having fun in the garden.
Join CCE Putnam 4-H Educator Brandy Keenan, Master Gardener Volunteers, Putnam Pollinator Pathway and Jenna Sadecki of Agriventures Agway for a workshop, "Digging In Together: Planting a Pollinator Garden." This event is geared toward gardening with children and includes a kid-friendly presentation about the importance of pollinators and what to plant to attract them to your garden. There will be a hands-on planting activity and crafts for children of all ages.
While at Tilly Foster Farm, feel free to visit the animals, take a walk in the Restore and Regenerate Forest down by the pond and check out all of the plants and flowers growing in the fields and forest. Maybe you'll spot some pollinators!
Light refreshments will be served.

Digging In Together: Planting a Garden for Pollinators

On Wednesday, July 1st, The Brewster Summer Music Series will kick off July 4th weekend with a free concert featuring the return of Bookends Band – back by popular demand after captivating a record-size audience last year.Now celebrating their 50th year together, Bookends Band has been delighting audiences since 1976 with their unique blend of classic favorites, hidden gems and original music. Their approach is refreshingly simple: “great songs – played very, very well.” 



The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Southeast Veterans Park, located at the corner of Railroad and Morningthorpe Avenues in Brewster. In the event of inclement weather the performance will be moved indoors, thanks to the generosity of Tom and Jerry's Irish House.

 The Brewster Summer Music Series continues every Wednesday evening through August 5, offering eight weeks of outstanding live music, community engagement, and family-friendly entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy food vendors, ice cream trucks, sponsor displays, and the popular 50/50 raffle.

The July 1 concert will also spotlight community organizations Second Chance Foods, Carmel/Brewster Garden Club and Putnam Prevention Council, along with other Community organizations Partners. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food items to support local food recovery efforts and help combat hunger in the community.

The Brewster Summer Music Series is one of many programs of the Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining cultural arts in the region. Since 2010, the Coalition has led the restoration of the historic Southeast Old Town Hall while presenting hundreds of cultural events through the Studio Around the Corner, the Old Town Hall Theater, and other local venues. This Independence Day, Friends of the Walkway invites the community to experience the City of Poughkeepsie 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular from the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge – perched 212 feet above the Hudson River at eye level to the dazzling display before you.

Join us for the 15th Annual Putnam County Wine &amp; Music Fest at Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park (Upper), 201 Gipsy Trail Road, Carmel, NY. The event takes place on Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday, August 23, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 2026.
Enjoy walk-around tastings from local restaurants and food trucks, specialty food vendors, arts and crafts, and live music from international and local artists across genres, including Reggae, Pop, Country, and Latin.
