Carmel Student Wins Simon Scholarship
The check was presented at Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets.

Staff from Woodbury Common Premium Outlets honored a local college scholarship winner with a check presentation at the Outlets on Aug. 19. The winner was Caraline McDonnell, a graduate of Carmel High School in Carmel.
She is a freshman at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. A Girl Scouts Gold Award holder, McDonnell was on the varsity ski team and the president of the Book Club at her high school. She would like to pursue a career that involves working with children.
The scholarship, valued at $10,000 over four years, is provided by the Simon Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit that champions educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds. Each year, SYF awards a scholarship to a deserving student who lives within 50 miles of a Simon property.

The next round of applications for SYF scholarships opened on Aug. 15. Students can apply online by visiting syf.org/scholarships.
