Cascade of Charges for Connecticut Men In Southeast
A stop for traffic infractions led to one thing, then another....

SOUTHEAST, NY β A traffic stop in Putnam County Oct. 14 led to a cascade of charges for two Connecticut men, according to New York State Police. They are due in Southeast Town Court in November to answer the charges.
Tyler Potenziani, 22, of Danbury CT, faces charges of:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree,
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree,
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree,
- Resisting Arrest
- Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated,
- Disorderly Conduct, a Violation
- multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.

- Violation of Criminal Procedure Law
- Failing to Surrender to a Bench Warrant
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree
- Disorderly Conduct
Troopers on patrol observed a vehicle in violation of several traffic infractions and conducted a vehicle and traffic stop.
Then, they said they discovered the Connecticut plate to be stolen and the vehicle unregistered.

Then Potenziani and Gutierrez were found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine, and rolled United States currency one dollar bills containing cocaine residue.
Then Potenziani provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
Police said they also discovered Gutierrez was wanted by the New York City Police Department for an active Bench Warrant.
Police did not describe what led to the disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges.
Potenziani was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets and Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court on Nov. 2. Gutierrez was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Gutierrez is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Southeast Justice Court on Nov. 16.
