Chilly Winds, Possible Snow: Brewster Forecast Through Christmas

SOUTHEAST, NY — In the countdown to Christmas Day, there are always things to take care of, and it looks as if the weather is going to make getting those things done a little trickier. Parts of the Hudson Valley will see colder temperatures and wind chills Wednesday and Thursday. Last-minute shopping toward the end of the week will be challenged by the chance of rain.

The good news — for some — is that snow is in the forecast in all parts of the region for Christmas Day, though in the mid-Hudson Valley there is a chance for rain and snow.

That said, traveling on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day might be complicated by the weather.

For the record, according to AccuWeather.com, a white Christmas in the United States is defined as having 1 inch or more snow on the ground the morning of Dec. 25. Whether that will come to fruition in the Hudson Valley, only time will tell.

• Thursday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds around 5 mph.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s. East winds around 5 mph.
• Friday-Cloudy. A slight chance of snow in the morning, then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
• Friday Night-Rain likely. Lows in the mid 30s. Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.
• Saturday-Rain likely. Not as cool with highs in the lower 50s. Chance of rain 60 percent.
• Saturday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain. Lows in the lower 30s.
• Sunday-Partly sunny. Highs around 40.
• Sunday Night-A chance of rain in the evening. Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Lows around 30. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
• Christmas Day-Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Chance of snow 40 percent.
• Monday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows around 20.
