Clocked at Over 80MPH on I-84, Charged with DWI

Lucas T. Gilchrist, 27, faces a charge of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.

New York state troopers stopped the vehicle Gilchrist was driving on Jan. 2 after observing it traveling in excess of 80 miles per hour on Interstate 84.

After interviewing the Carmel resident, they concluded that he was drunk.

Gilchrist supplied police with a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .24 percent, three times the legal limit of intoxication.

Gilchrist was charged with Felony DWI after the troopers learned that he was convicted of DWI within the last 10 years.

He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Southeast Justice Court Jan. 15.
