Cops haven't given up trying to ID a man found dead near the Appalachian Trail.

The New York State Police continue to investigate the nearly 33-year-old death of a man who has never been identified. The man’s body was found April 2, 1985, in a wooded area off of Route 301, in the town of Philipstown in Putnam County.

The location was not far from Canopus Lake and the Appalachian Trail.

The remains indicated that he was a white male, possibly between the ages of 27 to 35. He is thought to have been 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown hair. Dental records and DNA have not yet led to the man’s identity. A forensic facial reconstruction and a sketch were made to show what the man may have looked like.
