Comedy Night at The Schoolhouse Theater

Adam Oliensis brings his LoHud Comedy crew back to Croton Falls on October 18

Following three sold-out performances in its series of stand-up, The Schoolhouse Theater has scheduled three new comics for Comedy Night, Saturday, October 18, at 8 pm at its venue on 3 Owens Road, just off Route 22 in Croton Falls.

“We are thrilled that we have recognized the community’s desire for comedy. It appears that people really want a chance to just sit back and laugh,” said Schoolhouse General Manager Quinn Cassavale.

Organized in conjunction with Adam Oliensis of LoHud Comedy, the October 18 comedy night will feature professional comics Frank Vignola, Peter Keepnews, and Marla Schultz. Collectively, they have honed their craft on Comedy Central, Gotham Comedy Club, and Caroline’s.

Within the industry Frank Vignola has been considered a “comic’s comic” for over 20 years. Besides television appearances on Comedy Central, CBC (Toronto) and Discovery Channel Europe, Mr.Vignola also appeared at Montreal’s prestigious “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival with Bill Maher. Mr. Vignola was also lucky enough to travel as a member of the second Armed Forces Entertainment tour sent out after 9/11 and upon his return was invited to be the warm-up comic for Comedy Central’s “USO Comedy Show” taping at McGuire’s Air Force Base hosted by Susie Essman.

Peter Keepnews decided to become a stand-up comedian late in life. (As he explains it, he was having a midlife crisis and couldn’t afford either a sports car or a girlfriend and his wife wasn’t all that crazy about either idea anyway.) He has not regretted that decision for a minute. Observing life from the perspective of one who is, as he prefers to put it, gently used, Peter has surprised and delighted audiences of all ages at Caroline’s, Comix, Gotham, Broadway and other top New York comedy clubs.

Marla Schultz has headlined across the world from performing in London to entertaining the troops in Japan. Prior to headlining, Marla opened for some of comedy’s hottest acts; Jim Breuer, Chelsea Handler and Gilbert Gottfried. Marla began her standup career in New York City where she is a regular at Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live and Caroline’s. When in Los Angeles, you can catch Marla at The Hollywood Improv, Comedy Union and The Ice House.

Tickets for Comedy Night at the Schoolhouse are $20 and may be purchased online at www.schoolhousetheater.org or by phone to (914) 277-8477. The last two stand-up comedy nights have sold out. Early ticket purchase is recommended.
