Connecticut Man Accused of Stealing from Rehab Facility in Brewster

The crime took place in 2012 but New York state police didn't find the suspect until he was arrested on an unrelated charge in Connecticut.

New York State Police arrested Michael Holt of Ansonia, CT on an Arrest Warrant for Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a Class E Felony.

In May of 2012, troopers were dispatched to the Delancy Street Foundation in Brewster to investigate a grand larceny complaint. The Delancey Street Foundation is a national self-help organization for former substance abusers, ex-convicts, homeless and others who have hit bottom.

Further investigation determined Holt was the suspect in the crime —however, he could not be located. A warrant was issued for his arrest by the Town of Southeast Court.

In July of 2014, Holt was arrested in Connecticut for an unrelated complaint and has remained in their custody until now. Holt was turned over to the NY State Police to answer the warrant for Grand Larceny on Sept. 12.

Holt was released on his own recognizance after arraignment. He has been ordered to return to the Town of Southeast Court at 1 p.m. Oct. 16.
