Cooler Temps, Chance Of Rain: Brewster's Work Week Weather

BREWSTER, NY — The Hudson Valley can breath a sigh of relief weather-wise after the rain-and-wind one-two punch from the nor'easter Sunday into Monday. Cooler temperatures can be expected for the upcoming week, with the next chance of rain late Wednesday night into Thursday.

As far as Halloween is concerned, it will be brisk.

“Those headed out for trick-or-treating should dress warmly, for most temperatures will quickly drop into the 40s and 50s F shortly after nightfall, said AccuWeather Meteorologist Carl Babinski.

The rest of the work week will see mainly mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures rising slightly on Thursday but then dipping back down as the week comes to an end.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for Putnam County:

• Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
• Tuesday-Sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Areas of frost after midnight. Lows in the lower 30s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday-Mostly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. Areas of frost in the morning. Highs in the lower 50s. South winds around 5 mph.
• Wednesday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers. Lows in the lower 40s. Southeast winds around 5 mph.
• Thursday-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the morning. Highs in the lower 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 50s.
• Friday-Partly sunny. A chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Friday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the lower 40s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
