Coronavirus Symptoms Affect Brewster School Schedule

Here's the latest on the district's schedule changes.

BREWSTER, NY — District officials changed school schedules for Thursday, Friday and the weekend because a family member of a Brewster High School student has symptoms of the new coronavirus, Superintendent Laurie Bandlow announced.

Schools started dismissing students early Thursday. The district will be closed on Friday. All activities are canceled until Monday.

  • Brewster High School - 10:15 am
  • Wells Middle School - 10:10 a.m.
  • C.V. Starr Intermediate School - 11:15 a.m.
  • JFK Elementary School - 11:25 a.m.

Schools Superintendent Laurie Bandlow said the staff would take the time to double-down on cleaning efforts. "This time of closure will also add a small degree of social distancing," she said. She said she would send another update on Friday.
