Crash On The Taconic Parkway Kills One: NYSP

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — A New York City resident died in a one-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway Tuesday morning, New York State police said.

Troopers were dispatched at 9:34 a.m. to the parkway just south of Exit 31A for a report of a car off the roadway.

They found a 1995 Toyota Tacoma that had left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

The driver, Douglas W. Day, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Putnam County Coroner’s Office, police said.
