Danbury Man Accused Of Driving Drunk In Southeast

He was stopped on Route 6 near Starr Ridge Road.

SOUTHEAST, NY — Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley. Jr reports the arrest of a 35-year-old Danbury man for driving while intoxicated in Putnam County.

At about 6:28 p.m. June 2, Deputy Kevin Radovich charged Carlos R. Agosto-Mendez with driving while intoxicated. Agosto-Mendez was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 6 between Argone Road and Starr Ridge Road prior to his arrest.

Agosto-Mendez was subsequently arrested after failing roadside sobriety tests. Police said he had a blood alcohol content of more than .08 percent. Several empty beer bottles were found in his vehicle.

Police said a check with the DMV also revealed that Agosto-Mendez was driving with a suspended license.

He was processed for Driving While Intoxicated and third-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
