Deadline Approaches for Listing Southeast's Biggest Issues

Those interested in submitting feedback have until Tuesday to email their responses.

When he first took office, Southeast Supervisor Tony Hay said he was hoping to establish six or seven advisory committees based on residents' suggestions.

Now, with the deadline for submitting those recommendations just days away, Hay says he's received about a dozen responses. Hopefully, that's enough for a total four committees, he told Patch.

During his in January, Hay said he'd like as many residents as possible to send him a list of the five biggest issues they see in the Town. If 20 individuals named the same topic, he'd create a committee to address it. Hay was hoping to establish five committees based on the feedback he received from folks, and another two made up of members from each local political party.

"The responses were initially fast and furious," Hay said, adding that the two bodies based on political affiliation were givens. "...I will try to form two others from a conglomeration of the other responders."

Tuesday marks the deadline for submitting feedback. Those interested should email Hay at thay@southeast-ny.gov and state whether he or she would like to be part of a committee.
