Dutchess Woman Arraigned in Southeast Over Carmel Jewel Theft
Putnam County Sheriff Donald Smith announced the arrest Feb. 25.

A Dutchess County woman was arrested Feb. 24 on a charge of grand larceny.
On Jan. 8, a Carmel woman reported a larceny of jewelry from her residence. The case was turned over to the Putnam CountyΒ Sheriffβs Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). Members of BCI conducted an investigation and developed a suspect identified as Erica Turner, 33, of Wappingers Falls, New York.
Turner was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony. She was arraigned before Town of Southeast justice Richard Vercollone and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the felony charge, she could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.
