
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Westchester County man on a charge of DWI.
At 1:41 a.m., March 14, Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Peekskill Hollow Road in the Town of Putnam Valley.
Police said the deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Austin F. Knoeppel, 22, of Cortlandt Manor, New York was intoxicated; gave him a series of field sobriety tests which he failed; and arrested him and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Knoeppel was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, he could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
