Early Voting Location, Times Set In Putnam
County registered voters may cast their ballot early at the Board of Elections.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Ready to vote? You will have to wait a little while longer in Putnam before you can cast your ballot, but the mechanisms that allow everyone to vote are at least in motion.
You may already apply for an absentee ballot in New York. You may use the possibility of illness from the coronavirus as an excuse to vote by mail in the Nov. 3 election.

If you want to vote in person Nov. 3, the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Early voting is another option, and that starts Saturday, Oct. 24 and continues through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Any Putnam County registered voter is eligible to cast an early voting ballot. Registered voters will be able to vote at the Board of Elections office.
The early voting process is the same as on Election Day. When you arrive, you will sign the e-poll book, mark your ballot, and cast it on the voting machine. There will be sample ballots available at the early voting center to familiarize you with the ballot. You may ask an election inspector to explain how to vote, or if you need any assistance.
The Putnam County Board of Elections is accessible to voters with physical disabilities for early voting. Voting by an absentee ballot is still an option if you are out of Putnam County on Election Day or if you are permanently or temporarily disabled.
The early voting polling location for Putnam County is at the Putnam County Board of Elections, 25 Old Route 6, Carmel, NY 10512.
Here are the days and times for early voting in Putnam:
- Saturday, Oct. 24 from noon until 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 25 from noon until 2 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27 from noon until 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 29 from noon until 8 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 31 from noon until 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 1 from noon until 2 p.m.
