NY transportation officials will meet with the public in Putnam Valley.

The DOT wants to improve the intersection of Pudding Street with the Taconic State Parkway, and issues of eminent domain are involved.

State officials will describe their plans for the intersection and what property is involved at an upcoming public hearing in Putnam Valley.

The meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 19, at Putnam Valley High School at 146 Peekskill Hollow Road.

It will begin with an open-house format, followed by a brief, formal presentation beginning at 7 p.m. At the meeting, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the project with Department representatives, ask questions, and provide comments.

"The project action is being progressed as a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) categorical exclusion with documentation pending the Federal Highway Administration approval; and therefore neither an environmental assessment nor environmental impact statement will be required," state officials said. "As part of the Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL) requirements, attendees will have the opportunity to provide oral statements and/or file written statements."
