Brewster HS Theatre Alumni Present AVENUE Q, the musical!

HILARIOUS TONY-WINNING AVENUE Q MUSICAL ARRIVES IN BREWSTER!

Ever wonder what Sesame Street would be like for adults? Well you are in for a treat! AVENUE Q, the smash hit, 3-time Tony-Award winning Broadway musical written by Robert Lopez, Jeff Marx, and Jeff Whitty, is making its regional premiere right here in Brewster, New York! This zany, adult-themed spoof revolves around the main character, Princeton, who has just graduated from college with a B.A. in English.  He moves into an apartment in New York City in the only neighborhood he can afford, on Avenue Q.  Oddly enough, the superintendent of the building is washed up child actor Gary Coleman.  Princeton and his neighbors cope with the reality that life doesn’t exactly turn out the way that you plan.

The production is being presented by the Brewster High School Theater Alumni who last summer performed a smash hit production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee".  All proceeds from Avenue Q will benefit the upcoming Brewster High School Marching Band 2013 trip to Dublin, Ireland to perform in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Avenue Q is being presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, directed by BHS Alum Richard Grasso and musically directed and Produced by BHS theatre director Andrea Perdicho.  The cast includes Stephanie Rubino, Stephanie Sands, Richard Grasso, Andre Faivre, James Hussey, Emily Bueti, Katy Ann Milano, Chris Martorell, Antonia Carey and Zack Handler. The production is being stage managed by Lindsey Porter, Scenic Design by Brad and Chris Postian, Lighting Design by Joe Beahm, Sound Design by Eric Brundage, and puppet designed and by Russ Walko.

"We are so excited to be returning to Brewster, our hometown, and presenting this hilarious comedy to the Brewster community,” says Director Grasso.  "It is a chance for all of us to give back to our amazing High School Performing Arts program that has helped launch us into the colleges and careers that we are in today."

But be careful whom you bring to the show!  This show is Rated R due to its adult language, adult themes, and full puppet nudity!  No one under 17 years of age will be admitted into the show without a parent/guardian.  It’s adult night out so leave the kids at home and come support an amazing cause for the Brewster High School Marching Bears.

Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased online at www.brewsterschools.org or at the door.  Show dates are Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th at 7:30pm at the Henry H. Wells Middle School Auditorium on Rt. 312 in Brewster, NY.  Don’t miss out on what the critics call a "....savvy, sassy and eminently likeable.... breakthrough musical."  Get your tickets today!
