RELEASE: Free Election-Day Flu Vaccine Clinic

Ed note: What follows is a Patch reader-generated announcement.

The Putnam County Department of Health is holding a public seasonal flu vaccine clinic this Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th, 2011. Flu vaccine was just received at no cost from the New York State Department of Health, therefore the shots will be offered free of charge at the November 8th clinic.

Prescriptions are not required and no appointments are necessary. The influenza vaccine for this year contains three strains, including the H1N1strain.

Anyone 9 years of age and older who lives or works in New York State will be eligible to receive FREE flu vaccine at this clinic. Children under 9 years of age are encouraged to obtain flu vaccinations from their pediatricians. The clinic is scheduled for:

SAVE TIME! In order to move people through the clinic more quickly, NEW vaccine consent forms will be available here the week prior to the clinic. Download the forms, complete them and bring them with you to the clinic. Forms will be available at the clinic if you are unable to download.

NOTE: Clinic doors will not open until 3:30pm. No need to arrive early, flu vaccine supply is plentiful.
