Putnam Symphony Orchestra Musician Search

The Putnam Symphony Orchestra is looking for qualified musicians for a performance on Sunday, November 18 at 3 pm. The performance will take place at the Brewster High School on Foggintown Road off of Farm-to-Market Road, approximately one half mile north of Route 312.

Musicians who are interested in this opportunity to perform with the Putnam Symphony Orchestra as it begins its 36th season should contact Christine Smith, the conductor, at 845-228-4167. Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, September 5th and are weekly from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Brewster High School. Positions can fill quickly and musicians should contact the conductor as soon as possible.

The PUTNAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA performs a broad spectrum of music utilizing various ensembles as well as the full complement of musicians.  Performances have included the classics of Beethoven, Mozart, Handel, and Salieri as well as more contemporary works by such composers as Vaughn Williams and Copland.  Repertoire for each performance is selected on the basis of the ensemble that will perform, and will vary from that which is appropriate for a small chamber ensemble to that suitable for a full symphonic orchestra. The November 18 performance will be a holiday concert featuring well-known favorites, as well as The Polar Express, Imani, and selections from The Nutcracker Suite.
