The Ins and Outs of Memoir- Tuesday evenings from July 31st through August 28th at 6:30pm. Do you read memoir? Are you working on a memoir of your own? Within the past twenty years, memoir has supplanted fiction to become the most popular and diverse genre in American literature. This memoir reading and discussion group will meet for two hours every week for five weeks. We’ll discuss a memoir in the first hour, then workshop our own writing in the second. Discussion will touch on how memoir differs from other forms of life writing, such as biography and personal essay writing, as well as the writers’ strategies of narrative structure and tone. . A $15 administrative services charge will apply.
