Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition presents "The Edgy Side of Life" Art Show
The Edgy Side of Life — Dawn Willis will be presented at The Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main St, Ste. 101 in Brewster on Fridays, September 14 and 21, from 7PM-9PM, and Saturdays, September 15 and 22, from 12PM-2PM.
Dawn Willis studied photography, painting and printmaking at New York City’s School of Visual Arts. Although her early published work involved celebrity photos, she has for many years focused on our immediate surroundings — the world that’s so familiar, we no longer see it.
“The Edgy Side of Life” combines the beauty of rural scenes, photographs taken at Salinger’s Orchard in Brewster, and the urban side, street art alive with energy and color, taken at 5Pointz Graffiti Museum in Long Island City. Her photography is notable for her unusual subject matter, her strong sense of composition and the vivid, heavily saturated colors she brings to her prints. Dawn’s work has been shown in several galleries in Dutchess and Putnam Counties and at the Brewster Public Library.

In conjunction with the art show on 9/14, there will be a presentation at 7PM on the steps of Old Town Hall (in the event of rain, inside the Studio Around the Corner) of a grant check to the Cultural Arts Coalition by Senator Greg Ball. Please come out to help us celebrate!
