Family Credit-Card Theft Leads to Charge

A grand larceny charge could mean up to four years in prison.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on a charge of Grand Larceny.

At 1:41 p.m. Aug. 30, Deputy Sheriff Robert Hudson responded to a larceny complaint at 1335 Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. The complainant had reported that her son had stolen her credit card, which she subsequently recovered in her son’s room. The son, identified as Ryan T. McKeown, 23, of that address, admitted to having stolen the credit card, police said.

The deputy arrested McKeown and charged him with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony. He was arraigned before Town of Patterson Justice Anthony Mole and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court to answer the charge.
