Freeze On The Way: Brewster's Work Week Weather

SOUTHEAST, NY — Monday's mild weather is 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit above normal for early November. Thunderstorms are possible.

But things will be dropping through the work week. By Friday night, we'll be shivering in temps 15-20 degrees below normal.

"Exactly how potent this cold shot is… needs to be ironed out," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "However, come Friday night… lows in the low to mid 20s, and highs by Saturday in the mid to upper 30s are a possibility. We’ve been spoiled for many weeks with mild weather, winter’s chill may not be far down the road."

Here's what the National Weather Service predicts for Putnam County:

• Today-Showers. Areas of drizzle late this morning, then a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming west 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 90 percent.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Cooler with lows in the mid 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Tuesday-Partly sunny. Cooler with highs in the upper 40s. North winds around 5 mph.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. North winds around 5 mph.
• Wednesday-Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s.
• Thursday-Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s.
• Friday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 40s. Temperature falling into the upper 30s in the afternoon.
• Friday Night-Mostly clear. Cold with lows in the lower 20s.
