Friday Crash on Route 22: 3 Cars, 3 Injured, 3 Charged
The chain-reaction crash occurred during rush hour Feb. 27.
A chain-reaction three-car crash sent three to local hospitals Feb. 27 in Southeast, according to New York State Police.
The accident occurred on Route 22 just north of I-684 about 6:13 p.m.
Mahopac driver William Carey, 61, rear-ended a car driven by Christina Bond, 22, of Yorktown, forcing it into a car driven by Albert Pignatello, 85, of Kent, Conn.

Carey was transported by Brewster Fire Department to Danbury Hospital. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
Bond was admitted to Putnam Hospital. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Pignatello was taken to Danbury Hospital, police said.
A passenger in one of the cars was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Carey is due in Southeast town court March 26.
