Funeral Services Set for Mahopac Falls Man Who Died Sunday After Fire
Richard J. Delaney Jr. was born in Mount Kisco and graduated from Mahopac High School.

Mahopac Falls, NY — Funeral services have been set for the Mahopac Falls man who died as a result of a fire Sunday in his home.
Richard J. Delaney Jr. died at the age of 39, according to his obituary posted by Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home.

Delaney was born in Mount Kisco and graduated from Mahopac High School in 1995.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Mary Yantos Delaney, as well as a sister and brother and extended family.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 U.S. Route 6, Mahopac.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14 at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

The fire started in the kitchen, but Delaney was found in another part of the house.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the cause of death won’t be determined until an autopsy is performed, according to an article at lohud.com.
