Marie L. McCauley, 64, of Brewster, passed away Saturday at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, with her family by her side after a long battle fighting cancer.
Marie was born Aug. 7, 1947, to the late Peter and Adele (Zemaitis) Stramaitis in Dinkelsbul West, Germany. She was a graduate of All Saints H.S. in Brooklyn and also attended the American Institute of Banking in Manhattan. She was then employed by Willamsburg Savings Bank in Brooklyn, as a clerk typist. And that is where she met the love of her life, Thomas J. McCauley Jr. They were married on June 23, 1973 at the Church of the Annunciation, also in Brooklyn.

Marie had a place in her heart for stray dogs and cats. Her two granddaughters were her angels. But most of all, Marie will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband Thomas, her loving daughter Laura McCauley Kostik (Joseph) of Fishkilll and her cherished grandchildren Alexandra Marie and Isabella Rose. She is also survived by her brothers William and Bernard Stramaitis.

A Mass of Christian burial was slated for Wednesday at . Interment followed.
