The Grand at River Valley and Pawling Facilities Salute Veteran Residents on Veterans Day
The Grand Healthcare System recently held special Veterans Day events at Poughkeepsie and Pawling Grand facilities.
November 22, 2016; Pawling, NY/Poughkeepsie, NY – The Grand Healthcare System honored over 40 United States military veterans with special Veterans Day ceremonies at its The Grand River Valley Care Center Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie, NY and The Grand at Pawling Rehabilitation & Nursing in Pawling, NY.
Twenty-five veteran residents at The Grand River Valley attended a special U.S. flag ceremony and were recognized by representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps as well as staff members of The Grand at River Valley. A total of 15 veterans residing at The Grand at Pawling were treated to a special spaghetti lunch and award ceremony at the facility, where they received a special certificate recognizing their sacrifice and service for our country.
At each event, veterans were able to share their pride, enjoy camaraderie and appreciation, as well as exchange stories with their families and staff members of the facilities.

“The Grand Healthcare System recognizes the service and sacrifice our veterans have made for the freedoms we enjoy every day and on this Veterans Day 2016 we are honoring them and their families together,” remarked Dan Muskin, Regional Administrator of The Grand Healthcare System, during the event. “Our veteran residents have served our country with dignity, honor and pride. That’s the same philosophy that all our employees share in serving every one of our residents at all of our facilities that create an environment that is beyond that of a traditional nursing home and rehabilitation center.”
