Greenwich Man Who Hit NY Police Car Accused Of DWI

He had to drive on the shoulder to do it, state police said.

SOUTHEAST, NY — New York State Police say a drunk driver on I-84 hit a patrol car Sunday. It was on the shoulder with its emergency lights activated at the time.

Police said the officer was conducting an unrelated traffic stop beside the highway in the town of Southeast.

Now John D.Woytowicz of Greenwich, Connecticut faces a charge of driving while intoxicated. Police said their investigation of the 60-year-old revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.
