Hazardous Weather Outlook for Brewster

Heavy rainfall all day with a risk of strong thunderstorms

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook today for Putnam County.

The NWS says:

THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY. STRONGER STORMS COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS.

Putnam was not included in the Flash Flood Watch issued at 4 a.m. for northern Westchester County.

Today: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 80. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
