'Henpecked' Hawk Rescued In Putnam County
The red-shouldered hawk was stuck in a chicken coop and where it was being attacked by some chickens, according to the authorities.

BREWSTER, NY — A flock of chickens in a coop in Putnam County didn't take kindly to a winged invader and the Department of Environmental Conservation had to come out and settle things.
An environmental conservation office on patrol July 26 got a call about a hawk in distress at a home in Brewster.
The officer met with the homeowner and found a red-shouldered hawk that was stuck in the chicken coop and where it was being attacked by some of the chickens.

The officer safely rescued the hawk, which did not appear to suffer any apparent injuries.
Following the rescue, the officer released the hawk which flew away.
