Heroin Bust Uncovers Outstanding Warrant on Drug Charge: Sheriff
A Putnam Valley man is in Putnam County Jail.

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — A Putnam Valley man busted for drug possession got sent to jail when Putnam Sheriff's Deputies found out he had an outstanding warrant — for drug possession.
Deputies Brian Neary, Kevin Radovich and Keith Simone responded to Bonie Wood Drive in Putnam Valley for a report of a suspicious vehicle at about 11 p.m. Jan. 11. Their investigation revealed the passenger in the vehicle, Maher I. Jamal, to be in possession of a quantity of alleged heroin, as well as prescription pills he was not authorized to possess.
Members arrested the 28-year-old and transported him to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing. While doing that, deputies discovered that Jamal had an outstanding warrant out of Putnam County Court for Felony Drug Possession.

He was sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on the warrant and was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
