Heroin Under the Hood in Magnetic Box: Police

The state police's Hudson Valley narcotics team had the help of K9 Piko.

The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team of the Hudson Valley announce the arrest of 20-year-old Rocco F. Guida of Fishkill, New York.

Police said troopers stopped Guida March 9 on State Route 9 in Wappinger Falls for tailgating. They allege that subsequent investigation found about 23 grams of heroin concealed in a “hide-a-key” magnetic box under the hood of the 2003 BMW he was operating.

Guida was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.

He was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is due to appear before the Village of Wappinger Falls Court on March 11.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Petrus and K-9 Piko.
