Highway Closure At Putnam/Westchester Border Expected To Last 2 Months: NYSDOT

The section of State Route 6N is scheduled to be closed until May 22 for culvert replacement work, weather permitting.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A detour will be in place on a key Hudson Valley route for two months.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) said that State Route 6N, between Pine Tree Lane and Trailer Court, in the Town of Carmel, is scheduled to be closed from March 24 until May 22 for culvert replacement work, weather permitting.

The Carmel Police Department instructed drivers to use Baldwin Place Road and follow the marked detour.

"Lives are on the line; slow down and move over for highway workers!" Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
