Hope Jose Lingers: Brewster's Weekend Weather
The remnants of the last hurricane may protect us from Maria though not from unseasonable temps around Southeast. Get the details.

BREWSTER, NY — As Tropical Storm Jose meanders southeast of Long Island, summer heat and humidity are pushing into the Hudson Valley from the west. Highs on Saturday and Sunday should run about 10-15 degrees above normal. We could even break some records.
"So expect things to feel more like late July and early August," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
Meteorologists say that the high pressure area over the eastern US that's bringing all that heat and humidity would normally steer Maria to the coast....but the low pressure trough that Jose is creating could instead pull Maria to it and out into the Atlantic.

"We’ll have our eyes closely locked on Maria, to see if it pushes close to the North Carolina coast. As it stands right now… Jose is the only thing saving the SE US from a major impact from Hurricane Maria," Potter said.
Meanwhile, enjoy the sun and heat.

"Following a direct hit on Puerto Rico, Maria is likely to remain a dangerous hurricane as it moves northwestward into Friday," according to AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski.
