How hardwood flooring impacts the look of your Putnam County home.

This article will help explain how hardwood flooring can really impact the overall look of your home.

One of the most effective ways to impact the look of your home is to change the flooring throughout. Many people do not realize that by changing their floors, they can update the look of their home in a dramatic way. Also, by removing carpets and installing hardwood in your Putnam County home, you can add up to a 20% resale value.

Hardwood flooring over the years can start to show signs of wear. This is the telltale sign that is it time to sand, stain and refinish your floors! Sanding and refinishing your hardwood will restore it back to its original glory and make it look good as new! During the sanding and refinishing process you have the option of changing stain colors too. You can go from a dark floor to a light floor or vice versa. If there are some damaged spots in your hardwood, this can be repaired and then sanded and stain to blend in with the existing floors. Sanding and refinishing older floors that have signs of wear will automatically make your home look and feel newer. You will have floors that look brand new!
Here at The Couture Floor Company- we include our DUSTLESS sanding and refinishing system complimentary with our sanding and refinishing services!

Get rid of that old wall to wall carpet and add a hardwood floor!

It is such a great surprise to find hardwood floors under carpet. Almost always, you can sand and refinish the hardwood that has been there and restore it to look brand new. If you happen to have some stains on the floor that just won’t sand out, we can repair that area and weave and blend it in with the existing floor. But, if you find there is just the subfloor, add hardwood! By removing carpet and adding or refinishing your hardwood, the room will look larger and updated! If there hardwood in another area of your home- we can match the grade and species. It is almost always best to have the same hardwood throughout your home-especially if your home is an open floor plan. This will make the space flow better and also make it look larger.
Don’t be afraid to add an inlay, border or design pattern to your new hardwood floor!

Adding an inlay or border to your new hardwood flooring gives the floor extra dimension and beauty. There are many species of hardwood that we carry that are the PERFECT accent inlay or border. For example, if you wanted to install white oak and leave it a light stain color, you can add a dark walnut hardwood as the border throughout the room. There are different design patterns we can do with hardwood as well instead of the traditional “straight lay.” Not only will this look beautiful, but this will give your home the extra character it deserves. Here at The Couture Floor Company, we can customize your hardwood floors and give you a one of a kind floor!

Picture frame your fireplace hearth!

This small detail pacts a HUGE impact. Not many people realize just how beautiful it looks when your fireplace hearth is “picture framed” with hardwood.
The featured picture is a fireplace hearth picture-framed in white oak flooring with a custom-made beveled edge. This is unfinished white oak select flooring in a 4'' width. (Please note, this picture was taken just after we finished picture framing and installing the hardwood around the fireplace. The wood is unfinished.) This does take longer to install as opposed to other methods of installation but it is well worth it because the outcomes is just so beautiful.
