Katz ditches Putnam County voters. Again.
Assembly candidate Andrew Falk criticizes his opponent Steve Katz for failing to appear for all three debates and forums in Putnam County.

“It’s a slap in the face to Putnam County voters,” said Assembly candidate Andrew Falk (D-WF Patterson), who tonight criticized his opponent Steve Katz for failing to appear at a popular meet the candidates event. “A packed house of voters from all over Putnam County filled Carmel’s VFW hall to meet local candidates and learn where we stand on issues that matter,” said Falk. “Steve Katz chose not to participate. And he offered neither an explanation nor apology for his absence. That’s disrespectful.”
Falk noted this is the third time Steve Katz, who is standing for re-election, refused to face the voters of Putnam County, present his case and answer their questions. Earlier this week, Katz skipped a candidate forum sponsored by Putnam County League of Women Voters and the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Less than two weeks earlier, Katz failed to attend he Concerned Residents of Mahopac and Carmel candidate forum, another well-known and attended election season event.
“Putnam County voters deserve to know where Steve Katz and I stand on the issues that matter most to them,” said Falk. “Asking Putnam County residents for their votes, while refusing to face them, articulate his positions and address their questions, demonstrates that he holds them in contempt,” said Falk.

Falk said that Katz’s habit of bailing on 94th AD residents is nothing new. He said that in 2014, Katz missed 174 or 14.6 % of the votes on the Assembly floor. Some of those votes were missed while Katz was in a variety of cities attending marijuana investment conferences.
“Steve Katz has let Putnam County voters down time and time again,” said Falk. “He ditched votes on the Assembly floor, dumped our candidate forums and dodged our questions about his record.”

“If Steve Katz won’t bother to show up for us, why should we show up to vote for him,” asked Falk. “I am a father, husband and small business owner with lots of Putnam Pride and I can tell you without equivocation that we deserve better.”
Andrew Falk is challenging Steve Katz in the 94th Assembly District, which includes the towns of Carmel, Patterson, Putnam Valley and Southeast in Putnam County, as well as Somers and Yorktown in Westchester County.
