Late-Night DWIs in Southeast, Kent
Putnam Sheriff's Deputies stopped a Carmel man and a Danbury woman in separate incidents.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrests of motorists on DWI charges.
- Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 312 in the Town of Southeast at 2:50 a.m. Jan. 28. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as James F. Sorrell, 31, of 95 Fair Street, Carmel was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Sorrell and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after he failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility.
- Deputy Sheriff Vincent Dalo stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 311 in the Town of Kent at 1:36 a.m. Jan. 15. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Christina M. Pondiccio, 21, of 22 Abbey Lane, Danbury, Connecticut was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Pondiccio and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after she failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendants could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
